Paddle Surf Scotland
This loch and river trip is a hidden gem, getting you away from the crowd. We start off by exploring the lovely scenery of Loch Freuchie, surrounded by majestic mountains, getting to grips with SUP'ing in a wonderful location. From there we paddle underneath a tiny humpback bridge, and paddle upstream on the tiny River Quaich. This tiny, slow moving river meanders along, with wonderful views at every corner. After about a mile, its time to turn around and let the current help propel us down the river and back onto the loch.
Loch Freuchie is about 12 miles from Dunkeld, Aberfeldy and Crieff
Cost - £40 pp
Trip time - 3 hrs
We have two main locations for our lessons in Perthshire, Clunie Loch and Loch Freuchie. Theses are both stunning and fairly sheltered places, ideal for learning and exploring.
In Moray, we pick the best location for the weather a few days prior to the lesson date. Once booked on, we will then contact you to let you know where it shall be.
We are totally mobile so if there is somewhere else you would like to go then let us know and we can arrange it for you.
Clunie Loch in Perthshire is situated about 8 miles from Dunkeld and 4 miles from Blairgowrie, with easy access from both Dundee and Perth.
Its a beautiful loch to paddle on and it has the benefit of being one of the most sheltered in the region. This means that your first few steps on a Paddleboard in nice, flat water, helping your first few forays into the sport massively.
As well as calm waters, it also has a special secret at its heart, Clunie Island. Explore your own private island and check out the ruins of Clunie Castle on it.
